Panos Vassilopoulos was born in Athens , Greece .

Begun his involvement in percussion at age 14 listening to drummers such as Neil Peart , John Bonham and Ian  Paice.

Having had no formal lessons in his carreer ,begun to explore the more complex side of drumming a few years later, by listening to the Jazz Greats  Buddy Ritch and Joe Morello.

Actively participating in the Jazz –Fusion scene of Greece since 1990’s
2004 :Drum Clinics for the Percussion Music School “Polyrhythmia” in Athens
2006: Produced the instructional DVD “Ostinato & Polyrhythms ”
2007 Produced the instructional  DVD “a step further  ”
Both DVD’s are available worldwide, via Mel Bay and The MusicSales Group.
2008 :Produced the DVD/CD “Acoustic sessions” (to be released in 2009)
